The all-new Chevrolet Colorado is offered at five excellent trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2. Below, you’ll find a comprehensive review of all of the truck’s main aspects. But if you’d rather get hands on, just visit Banks Auto in Concord, New Hampshire, to check it out!
Exterior Design
The Chevrolet Colorado has a rugged exterior design with lots of features that enhance convenience and capability. For 2023, it has a new body offered with a variety of eye-pleasing colors including Glacier Blue, Radiant Red, Nitro Yellow Metallic, and Harvest Bronze. The all-new Colorado is sold as a crew cab with a five-foot short bed only.
The bed features eight standard fixed tie-downs and is available with a best-in-class 17 tie-downs, so it’s easy to keep your cargo secure. It also has an available first-in-class StowFlex Tailgate with an integrated lockable storage compartment, giving you additional cargo space that’s perfect for emergency equipment or tools — or items you’d like to keep away from prying eyes. It can even be used as a cooler thanks to its built-in drain.
Upgraded Powertrains
New for 2023, the Colorado comes with a majorly revised and capable powertrain lineup. All models are now powered by a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces varying amounts of horsepower and torque depending on trim level. The Colorado WT and LT have the basic 2.7L Turbo rated at 237 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque, which can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
The Colorado Trail Boss and Z71 have the 2.7L Turbo Plus, rated at 310 horsepower and 390 lb-ft, which can tow up to 7,700 pounds, which is best-in-class among midsize pickup trucks.[1] This engine is also offered as an option on the WT and LT. And finally, the top-of-the-line Colorado ZR2 gets the 2.7L Turbo High-Output, which cranks out a rowdy 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.
Enhanced Performance
All 2023 Chevy Colorado trucks use an eight-speed automatic transmission. The WT and LT have standard two-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive, while all other models have standard 4WD. Up to five drive modes help you optimize your truck’s performance for different driving conditions, including Off-Road, Terrain, Baja, Tow/Haul, and Normal.
Off-Road is ideal for driving on loose surfaces like gravel or snow while Terrain is best for going up steep hills or crawling over rocks. Baja is designed for traversing sand and is exclusive to the ZR2 model. The Colorado is also offered with an Off-Road Performance Display that helps you monitor everything from altitude and g force to 3D pitch and roll, helping you better understand what the truck is doing and review your driving performance.
Off-road Capability
The all-new Chevy Colorado is designed for customers seeking the best off-road capabilities the market has to offer. Both the Trail Boss and ZR2 get a factory-installed lift kit, upgraded rear dampers, underbody skid plates, wider fender flares, and large all-terrain tires. The Trail Boss and Z71 have a limited-slip differential while the ZR2 uses power-locking front and rear diffs.
The ZR2 also adds exclusive features like big Multimatic™ DSSV dampers at the front, giving its suspension even more impressive shock-absorbing abilities. And then there’s the ZR2 Desert Boss model with its off-road bumper, beadlock-capable tires, rollover bar, underbody camera, and roof-mounted light bar. It’s designed for ultimate desert trekking, but it will feel just as home on any loose surface.
Connected Technologies
Every new Chevy Colorado is equipped with a large 11.3-inch infotainment touch-screen display, the largest standard display in the segment. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone capability as well as an optional, extra-large wireless charging pad, but still features USB ports should your devices need them. One of the top features is the segment-first fully digital Driver Information Center, which shows all critical information closer to your line of sight. The midsize pickup truck can also be equipped with Google Built-In, which allows you to control navigation, music, apps, and even the air conditioning system through your Google account.
Driver Assistance
All 2023 Colorado models come with a wide array of advanced driver assistance systems that can help you avoid traffic incidents. That includes Forward Collision Warning with Front Pedestrian Detection and Automatic Emergency Braking as well as automatic high beams and Lane Keeping Assistance.
These are all standard features but several optional technologies are offered as well: Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Pedestrian Detection, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Possibly the best safety option, though, is the best-in-class 10 camera views, featuring segment-first underbody cameras that can help you navigate tricky terrain by showing you forward- and rear-facing views beneath the truck.
Interior Features
The all-new Colorado features a modern interior with updated materials and designs. It has, for the first time, a sunroof offered as optional equipment, giving the already impressively spacious interior an even greater sense of openness. The cup holders, center console, and shifter have all been relocated for more convenient and intuitive access. Dual-zone automatic climate control, perforated leather upholstery, and eight-way power-adjustable seats enhance comfort and quality of life on the top-end models. The 2023 Chevy Colorado offers comfort and luxury for those who appreciate the finer things.
The all-new 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is a well-rounded ride with features for everyone. It’s practical, technologically advanced, ruggedly capable, and dependably comfortable. Visit Banks Auto in Concord, New Hampshire, to learn more about this incredible midsize truck!
