2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD

The Chevrolet Silverado HD is a full-size, heavy-duty truck with exceptional capability, daily usability, and features you can enjoy even when you’re not on the job. There’s a lot to cover here, so let’s dig in.
Models and trim levels
The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is offered as a three-quarter-ton 2500 HD model or a full-ton 3500 HD model. The latter has a tougher suspension system that enables it to tow heavier loads, which also means you may find the 2500 HD’s ride more pleasant on the road. However, the 3500 HD is also the only one of the two to be offered with dual rear wheels.
Outside of capability, the 2500 HD and 3500 HD are largely the same across their trim levels. These include Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, ZR2, and High Country. In addition to trims, the trucks are offered with individual packages, options, and accessories that help enhance everything from design and tech to comfort and practicality.
Between all these options, you should be able to customize the Silverado HD the way you see fit. When you visit Banks Auto in Concord, New Hampshire, make sure to tell the sales representative what you are looking for, and they’ll help you tailor the truck according to your needs without going over your budget.
Two V8 engines
The latest Chevy Silverado HD is powered by either a gasoline-powered 6.6-liter V8 or a turbodiesel Duramax® 6.6-liter V8. The gas engine is rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque while the diesel is rated at 470 hp and a whopping 975 lb-ft of torque. No matter the engine, power goes through an Allision® 10-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission.
The 2500 HD and 3500 HD can both use either of the two engines, and both engines are also compatible with the dual rear wheel option. In other words, you’re not pigeonholed into limited choices once you’ve selected an engine. Get the one that makes sense to you and go from there.
Up to 36,000 pounds of towing
The Silverado HD’s maximum towing capacity can vary based on many factors. Which of the V8 engines is it using? What kind of towing attachment are you using — conventional, gooseneck, or fifth-wheel? What is the size of the cab? No matter the truck’s other specs, though, you can count on it being able to tow impressively heavy loads.
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD offers up to 36,000 pounds of maximum towing capacity.[1] Even if you don’t need all that power, you’ll get base towing power that eclipses the Silverado 1500 and segment-leading max Crew Cab towing up to 22,070 pounds.[2]
Powerful trailering tools
Up to 14 camera views and smart trailering tech make the Silverado HD one of the best trucks for doing real work. After all, 36,000 pounds of towing capacity is great, but it won’t get you far if you can’t put it to use in real-world situations. When it’s time to hitch up, the Silverado HD’s hitch view and bed view help you get aligned; and when you hit the road, the transparent trailer view gives you a virtual see-through glimpse of the vehicles behind your tow.
Spacious and durable bed
Made with high-strength roll-formed steel, the Silverado HD’s bed has the durability you need to do tough jobs without having to worry about causing damage. It also features 12 standard tie-downs (each rated at 500 pound per corner) and best-in-class cargo volume for both the standard box (69.6 cubic feet) and long box (83.5 cubic feet). Integrated bed steps and corner steps, large enough to fit work boots, join a six-function Multi-Flex Tailgate to provide exceptional practicality. Loading, unloading, and accessing the bed has never been so easy.
Luxurious ride
While it’s primarily designed for work, the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD has plenty of niceties on offer. It’s a comfy truck for commuting or hauling the family, particularly with the spacious crew cab and its 43.3 inches of rear legroom. In High Country trim, the Silverado HD offers plush amenities like heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, soft-touch leather upholstery, and plenty more upmarket equipment that will have you looking forward to more seat time.
Next-gen technologies
Up front, a Google-powered infotainment system runs on a high-definition touchscreen, as large as 13.4 diagonal inches on the LT trim and up. It’s compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™, as well as the Google Assistant, enabling you to get directions, adjust car settings (like the climate control), respond to text messages, and even control home devices — all using the power of your voice, without ever needing to take your eyes off the road or hands off the wheel. And that’s just the tip of the technological iceberg, which also includes an available head-up display and trailer-compatible, Super Cruise™ hands-free driving.
Unleashed off-roading
If you play as hard as you work, the Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 is the perfect trim for you. It adds a 1.5-inch suspension lift, 35-inch MT Goodyear Wrangler Territory® tires, and Multimatic DSSV™ dampers to help you reach remote places or simply have a whole lot of fun. The extra ground clearance is nice, but an aluminum front skid plate helps protect the sensitive underbody just in case you get too carried away. It happens to everyone.
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD is the ultimate heavy-duty truck. Don’t just read about it — experience it in person with a visit to the Banks Auto dealership in Concord, New Hampshire.
